2019 Mountain Wildlife Days is set for July 12 and 13
A wide variety of activities, including hikes, field trips, music and “live” animals will be
featured at the 16th annual event on July 12 and 13 at the Sapphire Valley Resort. This
two day event is a popular summer opportunity for all ages to get up close to the “wild
lives” and “wild places” that make the mountains a special place to live and visit.
Friday, July 12 will feature hikes to some of the scenic mountain areas led by
outstanding local hiker leaders. The afternoon will be devoted to area children’s groups
where skilled wildlife experts will provide a close up opportunity to meet and learn more
about their “live” animals. In the evening, bluegrass music and learning more about
Creation and wildlife will be both an entertaining and informative experience.
In keeping with the theme of Mountain Wildlife Days to provide as many “live” animals
as possible, Saturday will feature noted wildlife experts and their “wild lives”..
Scheduled are an up close opportunity to meet and greet reptiles, amphibians, a variety
of animals from the North Georgia Zoo, learn more about black bears (sorry no live
bears) and our popular wolf man, Rob Gudger and his wolves.
