The 14th annual Mountain Wildlife Days is scheduled for July 15 and 16 at the Sapphire Valley Community Center, located 3 miles east of Cashiers, NC. A special new presenter, Carlton Burke will headline a program titled “Hunters of the Sky”. Burke is a naturalist and educator who operates “Carolina Mountain Naturalists” which specializes in presenting “live” animal and nature programs.
Rob Gudger, a popular past presenter will return with his wolves, along with world class wildlife photographer Bill Lea acquainting the audience regarding his unique close experiences inYellowstone with coyotes, foxes and bobcats The Balsam Nature Center will be featured in the continuing special Friday afternoon presentation for area children.
New this year will be Arthur the bear (shown above)who will join Cynthia Strain of the B.E.A.R. group in an interesting look at the “Life of a Black Bear and how to live safely with them.
The ever popular North Georgia Zoo’s Wildlife Wonders will feature some of their interesting and unusual “live” wildlife,seldom found in our North Carolina Mountains.
